The Model 1312 Interface card was designed to link Vibrac's Optical Torque Transducers to a customer's electronics and data acquisition system.
It requires DC input power of +15 V and -15 V DC and a 0 to -10 V DC zeroing signal.
A 0 to +/- 10 volt signal proportional to torque is outputed from the card when connected to a transducer.
The Vibrac Model 1312DS Signal Conditioner Card and associated Torque Transducers offer a rapid and accurate means of evaluating many types of rotating devices. The torque transducer has been designed using carefully selected components to maintain the lowest inertia and friction load levels allowing for accurate torque measurements. This encoder interface and torque signal conditioner card has been designed to directly interface with all Vibrac Optical Torque Transducers (with optional encoders).
The torque signal conditioner card produces a DC voltage proportional to the torque applied to the torque transducer and provides for complete bias and calibration control. This module may be interfaced to control computers via DAC (digital to analog) and AtoD (analog to digital) devices.
To use this module, apply a DC voltage (Zeroing Signal In) to the card. Adjust this signal to produce a zero torque signal (Torque Output) while the torque transducer is in an unloaded condition. The analog torque output signal is a DC voltage that continuously represents sensed torque.
Once the transducer has been zeroed, a zero reference voltage is available to provide a monitoring point that the customer can utilize to return the transducer to the calibrated point without uncoupling the transducer from the loading or driving device.
Transducer technical specifications are available by contacting Vibrac Europe directly.
The 1312 DS Interface Card encoder interface converts the quadrature inputs from the optical encoder (attached to the torque transducer) to a string of clock pulses and an Up/Down direction control output. These outputs can be interfaced directly with standard Up/Down counters for direction and position sensing of the encoder.
